I try to make spontaneous movements with my brush so it dances across the canvas, panels, or watercolor paper. My subject matter is the world around me, whether it is my Midwestern landscapes, florals from my and local gardens, or gems I find at our local farmer’s market. In addition, I try to use color in such a way as to bring a smile to the viewer. And that is what keeps me motivated to create each day.
About
I am a professional fine artist living in Crawfordsville, IN, now retired from the field of education. I am fortunate to have a studio separate from my house where I can paint every day. Most of my paintings are either oils or acrylic but I also do some work in mixed media. My paintings are usually of florals where I am drawn to both the color and shape of flowers. However, lately, I have been enjoying painting landscapes while incorporating wildflowers found in Indiana. When you view my work, you will see that I enjoy vivid colors and am not afraid to try new color combinations.
